SSI Advanced Open Water Course - Brisbane

Take the next step in your scuba diving adventure!

The Advanced Open Water Course is the next step in continuing your scuba diving education. We've changed our structure this year so you can get more out of your diving program! Complete your course in just two days with a double shore dive on Day 1 and a triple boat dive on Day 2. We are sticking with the best of the best dives for the Advanced Open Water Course ensuring you increase your dive ability with Perfect Buoyancy and Navigation, and have some awesome experiences with Wreck, Deep, and Night dives to round out your course.

Exploring Specialties: During the Advanced Open Water Course, you'll have the chance to try out five different specialties, each designed to enhance your diving skills and knowledge in specific areas. These specialties include Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, Wreck, Night, and Deep diving.

Hands-On Experience: You'll complete one open water training dive for each specialty, giving you hands-on experience and practical skills in various diving techniques. Whether it's mastering buoyancy control, navigating underwater terrain, exploring wreck sites, or diving at night, each specialty dive offers a unique and rewarding learning opportunity.

Contributing to Full Specialty Certification: The dives completed during the Advanced Open Water Course can also count towards earning full specialty certifications in each respective area. This means that as you progress through the program, you'll be well on your way to becoming a certified specialist in multiple diving disciplines.

Increased Depth Certification: As part of the course, you'll also increase your certification depth to 30 meters (or approximately 100 feet), allowing you to explore a wider range of dive sites and underwater environments with confidence.

Expert Instruction: Throughout the Advanced Open Water Course, you'll receive expert instruction and guidance from certified dive instructors who are experienced in teaching and mentoring divers at all skill levels. They'll provide personalized attention and support to help you master new techniques and gain confidence in your diving abilities.

By participating in the Advanced Open Water Course, you'll not only expand your diving skills and knowledge but also open up new opportunities for exploration and adventure beneath the waves. Whether you're interested in honing specific diving techniques or simply eager to broaden your diving horizons, this course offers a dynamic and rewarding pathway to advancing your scuba diving education.

Inclusions

• SSI Digital Kit and Certification Card
• Two Shore dives. These will include a Perfect Buoyancy Dive and a Navigation Dive.
• Three Boat Dives. Will be in Moreton Bay region and will include a Deep Dive, Wreck Dive, and a Night Dive in a triple dive trip.
• Air tanks and weights

Course structure (conditions dependent, subject to change)

• Saturday - 2 x Shore dives at the Gold Coast Seaway or Tweed River
• Sunday - 3 x Boat dives from Manly Marina

Required equipment (not included)

• Mask, snorkel, fins and boots
• Cylume stick, slate, reel and SMB, torch, and compass
• BCD and weights, regulator and computer, wetsuit (available for hire)

Important information

• Open Water Certification required
• 
  Minimum of 4 Students required per course, thus will guarantee the course will run. If we don’t achieve this minimum number, we will move your booking to the next available date.

• All participants must complete a Medical Questionnaire. If any of the questions are flagged as "Yes" you may need to gain medical clearance from a doctor prior to participating. Please ensure you complete this Medical Questionnaire before the start of your Course.

• The minimum age to participate is 12 years old (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old.)

• Maximum 6:1 student to instructor ratio.

• 2 Shore Dives, conducted in the Tweed River or the Gold Coast Seaway, then 3 Boats Dive out on Moreton Bay

• Online learning at no additional cost.

• Become qualified to dive depths of up to 30 metres.

• Internationally recognised certification to scuba dive anywhere in the world.

• Closer to the start of your course, a detailed itinerary with times, dates and addresses will be emailed to you.
