FLINDERS REEF – BRISBANE’S ULTIMATE DIVE ADVENTURE

Get ready to explore one of Queensland’s most spectacular dive sites! Flinders Reef is a vibrant underwater playground, bursting with life and colour and perfect for divers of all experience levels.

Descend into a world of dramatic walls, gutters, caves and pinnacles, all blanketed in over 100 species of hard and soft corals — including staghorn, brain and plate corals, plus stunning gorgonians and sponges. This reef packs more coral diversity into one area than any single reef on the Great Barrier Reef!

Flinders Reef is home to over 175 species of reef fish, with regular sightings of turtles, stingrays, wobbegong sharks, and the occasional graceful manta ray cruising past. One of the highlights is the famous turtle cleaning station, where green turtles relax in the shallows while cleaner wrasse and surgeonfish do their thing.

As the closest true coral reef to Brisbane, Flinders Reef was protected as a marine park in 1998 — and it shows. Expect schools of wrasse, sweetlips, trevally, parrotfish, batfish and surgeonfish, plus encounters with leopard sharks and whaler sharks on the eastern side of the reef.

From June to September, keep an eye on the surface — humpback whales are often spotted passing by on their annual migration
