The SSI Deep Diving Specialty program offers divers the opportunity to explore depths between 18 and 40 meters (60 to 130 feet) with confidence and competence. Here's what you can expect from this comprehensive course:

Academic Sessions: The program begins with academic sessions where you'll learn about the physiological and psychological aspects of deep diving, as well as the potential hazards and safety considerations associated with diving to greater depths. You'll also study dive planning techniques, gas management strategies, and the use of dive computers to ensure safe and enjoyable deep dive experiences.

2. Open Water Dives: The course includes a series of open water dives where you'll apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you'll practice deep diving techniques, including descent and ascent procedures, buoyancy control, communication, and navigation at depth. These dives provide invaluable hands-on experience in a real-world diving environment.

3. Gas Consumption Calculations: You'll learn how to calculate gas consumption rates and manage gas supplies effectively during deep dives. Understanding gas consumption is crucial for planning dives and ensuring that you have an adequate air supply for the duration of the dive, as well as for managing decompression obligations when required.

4. Certification and Prerequisite: Upon successful completion of the SSI Deep Diving Specialty program, you'll earn your certification, allowing you to explore beautiful deep dive sites around the world. Additionally, this specialty certification serves as a prerequisite for certain advanced training courses, making it an essential step in advancing your dive education.

Course structure (conditions dependent, subject to change)

• Your Online Learning must be completed before arriving to begin your first day of this course
• Thursday Night - Paperwork & Theory Discussion
• Saturday - 2 x Boat Dives 
• Sunday - 2 x Boat Dives 

Required equipment (not included)

• Scuba quality mask, snorkel, fins and boots
• Torch, compass, SMB and reel
• BCD and weights, wetsuit, regulator and computer, cylinder (available for hire)

• Advanced Certification required
• All participants must complete a Medical Questionnaire prior to the course and seek clearance from a medical practitioner if necessary
• Parent or guardian consent required for participants under 18 years
• Your own transport for you and your equipment is required to and from course locations
